Project Focus: Activities Program in High Schools
The teenage years are a time for forming identity. Today there is a growing awareness that young people need to learn about the richness of their Jewish identity and heritage, so that these can be foundation stones and have a positive influence on the future of these individuals, society and the Jewish People.
Based on this concept, Panim-el-Panim has built a midrasha study program that offers regular, high-quality programming in secular high schools in the state education system. This year we ran programs in 5 regions, in over 55 of the most prestigious high schools in Israel, reaching some 23,000 students.
The students are being introduced to Jewish values, love of the Jewish People, the State and Jewish tradition, and learn the relevance of these values to their lives.
The Midrasha operates in full cooperation with the educational staff in the schools, has been recognized personally by the education minister and by the Education Ministry, and runs joint programs with the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption.
We contact a high school and start with an introductory program to one grade. The program grows and develops into a comprehensive structured program for grades 7-12.
We have received amazing responses from the high schools' staff and from the students themselves, and each year we run more activities in the schools and introduce the programs to additional schools.
