The Netzer Ariel Community's academically-accredited Midrasha program brings the depth and beauty of Judaism to well over 1,000 male and female secular Ariel University students in Ariel. In addition to its in-depth curriculum and private counseling for those interested, it also provides a great portion of the Jewish cultural scene on campus. Since its founding in 2006, the Midrasha offices are located in one cramped caravan for its administration. Therefore, the Midrasha has needed to scatter its courses around campus, wherever available classrooms are available. Sometimes, conditions In order to finally provide permanency and normal office conditions for students and staff, a pre-fab structure has been located and the Midrasha is currently looking for a funder for this pressing necessity.
Netzer Ariel was founded in the aftermath of the Disengagement Plan in 2005. Twenty-five families evicted from the Netzarim area of Gush Katif came to rebuild their lives in the city of Ariel, in order to strengthen unity among Israelis. bringing Israelis together. themselves wholeheartedly to the great social and educational needs of the local populace. Eighty families have since joined them. Today, Netzer-Ariel currently runs eleven projects in the fields of education, welfare and Jewish culture throughout the city of Ariel, including academically-accredited Judaic studies for 1,100 students at Ariel University.
